The Dive Theory is comprised of 5 sections with corresponding videos, knowledge reviews and a final exam. This can be done on location or covered in the comfort of your home in your own time through PADI eLearning online. This system is well designed and you will find that you have acquired a lot of knowledge over a short period of time to fully understand the fundamentals and safe diving practices with the confidence and understanding of how all of the equipment functions.
The Confined / Shallow water skills are also broken into 5 sections, here you will build on the knowledge gained through the dive theory and practice all of the necessary skills in a swimming pool or shallow beach area with conditions of that of a swimming pool, except that you will experience the curious reef fish bustling about while you train.
Open Water dives are what you have been waiting for and the time has come. Your first 2 dives will be to a maximum of 12m where you will again practice the skills that you covered during your confined sessions, thereafter you will be led on your first dive by your Instructor to enjoy all the wonders that await in this whole new world.
Your 3rd and 4th dives will be to a maximum of 18m where again you will perform some of your previously acquired skills before surfacing after dive 4 as one of the newest members of the PADI family!
Diver prerequisites : 10 years old (Note: 10-14 year old divers earn a Junior Open Water Diver certification.)
